In the middle of checking my email yesterday my Internet connection was lost. My motel and router are working and I have reset both and my computer many times and tried to restore my computer from a backup point when it was working it still won't connect. So then I connected the problem computer directly to the modem, and amazingly had an internet connection back! Wanting to get the router back in play for wireless access, I reinstalled the router (as the internet connection was back) and it is now working and my problem computer internet connection is still in place. Even after a system recovery, if the computer still does not connect to the internet then the wireless card be faulty and a great workaround is to buy a USB wireless adapter and that should do the trick for you. It is extremely cost effective. So please keep that as an option also. Please let me know how this pans out. I am keeping my fingers
OK, so I just purchased a new laptop and have to connect it to the internet. Bought a router, installed it and hooked it all up, my laptop detects internet fine and works dandy. Only problem is, that my desktop computer that connected to a wired modem, which now has the NEW router connected to it, will not detect the internet connection.
